All savvy New Yorkers know the signs: the ships pull in and suited up sailors flood the streets of New York City for Fleet Week. CxRA was armed and ready to honor the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coastal Guards at the annual Salute to Freedom Gala aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The Gala brought together leading members of business and military communities to help the museum promote awareness, honor our heroes, and inspire the youth.
As the sun set on the Hudson, the Intrepid was decked out and welcomed 550 guests for a night of patriotism and great food! Amongst the planes and history in Hanger 2, our famous Small Bites kicked off the gala like our Fried Chicken Bites with Caviar and Sorrel Crème Fraiche and of course the Wagyu Beef Slider. The curtains opened to Hanger 3 and revealed the beautiful dinner setting. For such a classy night, there was a Chilled White Corn Soup to start and a Grilled Bistro Steak was the perfect classic entrée to honor our national heroes.
For the Intrepid’s 80th commissioning anniversary, the Museum honored Carlos Del Toror, Secretary of the Navy. The museum also recognized all Former Crew Members of USS Intrepid for their valor and dedicated service to our nation.
After a powerful program honoring those who serve and have served, it was time for the grand finale, the dessert reception with Sweet Bites and a Dessert Buffet to satisfy every type of sweet tooth.
CxRA salutes and thanks the brave men and women who serve our country!
